Application

Anticip8 creates a tonic bath for scleractinian corals, encouraging energy production. Regular application of Anticip8 has been shown, in a sample size of over 15,000 individual farmed coral colonies maintained in U.S.-based commercial coral aquaculture facilities, to dramatically improve coral resilience and longevity when coralivorous invertebrates are evident. Application as directed does not impact invertebrates maintained in culture systems (e.g. desirable crustaceans, gastropods, echinoderms, etc.), nor does the formulation leave a residue. All components are USA-sourced. Each gallon of tonic solution is sufficient to bathe ~750 - 1,000 coral colonies, depending upon average colony size.

Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Store in a cool, dry location away from sunlight.

Unmixed product does not require refrigeration. Store tightly-sealed, in cool, dry location. Do not permit contamination of container with moisture or foreign material.

Anticip8 16-oz Instructions

If you are dipping corals that you have just received, then you must acclimate the corals according to the supplier's instructions before dipping them in Anticip8 solution. Do not mix Anticip8 in the transport water (i.e. the water within the bag or container in which the coral was shipped or transported).

A timer with audible alarm is required to use Anticip8. A cell phone timer works well in this capacity.

Do not dispense Anticip8 solution into system.

Each Anticip8 16-oz package mixes with 16 oz (2 cups) of system water (not purified or tap water). Empty the entire contents of the Anticip8 16-oz pouch into a clean measuring cup with capacity of at least 16 oz (2 cups). Fill the measuring cup to the 2-cup mark with water from the system into which the coral will be placed. Do not use a different amount of water. Mix until all powder is completely dissolved.

Exposure time: Submerge corals in Anticip8 solution for up to 15 minutes (except Euphyllia sp., which should be removed after 7 minutes) (set an audible alarm to ensure that this time limit is not exceeded), observing specimen(s) and removing when solution appears to have had desired impact or when 7 or 15 minutes elapses, whichever comes first. Rinse specimen(s) in a separate bath of system water for 5 minutes before placing them back into system. Repeat weekly if desired.

Use solution repeatedly with multiple specimens (~125 coral frags per 16 oz solution) for up to 6 hours, then discard tonic solution.

Preparation of Anticip8 Solution ≥1 gallon volume

In a clean mixing vessel, mix 23 g per gallon of system water to create the desired final volume of tonic solution. Do not create solution with purified water or tap water. Ensure that components are entirely dissolved in the water prior to use (a clean submersible water pump aids in this process). Do not dispense vessel contents or tonic solution into system. Use solution within 24 hours of preparation. Store solution securely (tightly-sealed) when not in use.

Application

Once solute is entirely dissolved, transfer tonic solution from mixing vessel into clean application vessel. An application vessel should be chosen which permits User to observe impact of tonic solution on cohort specimen(s); a clean, shallow, plastic tub large enough for a tray holding several cohort specimens to be lowered into the tonic solution is the standard application vessel. Best results are obtained when tonic solution is gently circulating in application vessel; a small submersible pump or air-driven current achieves this. Ensure that temperature of tonic solution remains within 1°F of system temperature to avoid thermal stress. Gently place specimen(s) into application vessel (read below regarding exposure time). Monitor specimen(s) for signs of distress during tonic solution exposure, and remove specimen(s) from solution if distress is noticed. Use solution repeatedly with multiple specimens (~750 - 1,000 coral frags per 1 gallon tonic solution) for up to 6 hours, then discard tonic solution.

Exposure time: Place scleractinians into tonic solution for up to 15 minutes (except Euphyllia sp., which should be removed after 7 minutes) (set an alarm to ensure that this time limit is not exceeded), observing specimen(s) and removing when tonic solution appears to have had desired impact or when 15 minutes elapses, whichever comes first. Rinse specimen(s) in a separate bath of system water for 5 minutes before placing them back into system. Repeat weekly if desired.
