Characteristics
-
Controls ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate in recirculating seawater ecosystems.
-
Reduces system ammonia content by up to 50% within 24 hours of initial application.
-
Improves water clarity and light penetration.
-
May be used in conjunction with aCtiv8 to mitigate elevated dissolved inorganic nitrogen content in imbalanced systems.
Basic Application
Initial: 1 mL (20 drops vertical) per 50 gallons (189.3 L) applied in conjunction with 1 g per 50 gallons of aCtiv8 (this is optional, but will expedite ammonia reduction).
Thereafter: 1 mL (20 drops vertical) per 500 gallons (1,893 L) once every 7 - 10 days.
To address acute increases in DIN that are the result of biological filtration failure, utilize 'Initial' dosage.
Application
Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. Store in a cool, dry location away from sunlight.
Elimin8 DIN is a homogenous suspension consisting of non-pathogenic, heterotrophic aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, specifically selected for aggressive reduction of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (e.g. ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate) in recirculating systems. In the presence of adequate organic carbon, Elimin8 DIN can reduce existing ammonia concentrations by up to 50% of their initial value within 24 hours of application. Regular application enables greater feeding frequency and improved nutrient management.
Maximum effectiveness is achieved within 18 months of manufacture date. This formulation does not incorporate preservatives, however refrigeration is not required. Unused contents of container should be protected from exposure to contaminants.
Initial Application, or when dealing with an acute increase in DIN: 1 mL (20 drops vertical) per 50 gallons. To expedite nitrogen cycle, apply in conjunction with 1 g aCtiv8 per 50 gallons, which provides necessary organic carbon and ensures rapid microbial colonization.
Maintenance: 1 mL / 500 gal. weekly, or 1 g / 3,500 - 5,000 gal. daily. Monitor system nutrient balance. Adjust dosage accordingly.
Depletion of available carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus will negatively impact the growth of cohorts consisting in part or entirety of phototrophs; this includes plants, algae, zooxanthellate cnidarians, and poriferans hosting symbiotic zoochlorellae. Monitor nutrient concentrations and note apparent related impacts on cohort appearance and biomass. Adjust nutrient content in system as necessary to maintain desired cohort appearance and growth rates. Do not permit nitrate concentration to fall below 5 ppm in systems housing cohorts of photosynthetic organisms, including zooxanthellate cnidarians.
